Relevant sectors: Construction

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 created the role of principal designer, and maintained similar duties for designers under the previous regulations.

This course focuses on the designer and principal designer roles, how to discharge these duties under and how these roles interact with the other duty holders.

The course will look at how in practice designers ensure that safety is an integral part of the project team considerations from the very earliest conception of the project through to completion.

Subjects covered include the safety of the construction process and construction methodologies, how the building or structure will be used and maintained in the future, including coordination of your own design and that of others, and design risk tracking.
