Overhead Crane (ITSSAR)

Aim
To turn the theoretical and practical knowledge to safely operate an overhead crane with pendant and remote control operating system.
Elements
Operators will receive training on the following elements:
• Understanding basic lift plan
• Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
• Operator safety code, Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations ( LOLER) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
• Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (MHSWR)
• The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations & Code of practice for safe use of cranes, inspection, testing and examination 7121
• Component Parts and Pre-use checks
• Basic training ( including basic slinging)
• Statutory requirements
Knowledge
On completion of training, operators will have an understanding of:
• Basic Lifting plans
• Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
• Operator safety code, LOLER and PUWER Regulations
• MHSWR, Safety Signs and Signals Regulations and BS 7121
• Component Parts and Pre-use checks
• Statutory requirements
